Subject: Consultation on Proposed Admissions Arrangements for the Academic Year 2027-2028

Dear Parents, Carers, and Interested Parties,

In accordance with the Department for Education’s statutory School Admissions Code (2021), St Paul’s Catholic Primary School is undertaking a consultation on its admissions arrangements for the academic year 2027-2028

This consultation is being held because:

• We are proposing amendments to our oversubscription criteria by removing the parish name [see highlighted section]. As part of the Bishop's strategy, You Will Be My Witnesses (the Bishop's 10-year plan), parishes across the diocese will be reorganised into larger entities, leading to updates in parish names and their corresponding geographic boundaries. St Paul's Catholic Primary School regularly admits applicants from lower priority categories; therefore, eliminating the parish name from the criteria will not affect the admission of Catholic children.

The consultation period will run for six weeks, from 14.10.2025 to 09.12.2025, during which time we welcome feedback from:

• Parents of children aged 2–18
• Local schools and nurseries
• The Local Authority
• Other admission authorities in the area
• Any other individuals or organisations with an interest in the proposed arrangements

At the end of the consultation period, all responses will be considered by the Governing Board before the final policy is determined and published by 28 February 2026, in line with statutory requirements.
