St Paul’s Catholic Primary School is considering establishing school-based nursery provision at our City Road site in Tilehurst.

The school has already consulted current parents, staff and governors. We are now widening the consultation to prospective parents and carers, local residents, education and childcare providers, community organisations and other interested parties.

We would particularly welcome feedback about:

• demand for nursery places in the local area;

• potential benefits for children, families and the community;

• possible effects on existing education and childcare provision;

• traffic, parking, access, noise or site considerations;

• SEND, accessibility, equality and safeguarding;

• any practical measures the school should consider.

The governing body has approved the development of the proposal, but no final decision has been made about the detailed operating model. All responses received by the deadline will be considered before the proposal is finalised.

The consultation closes at 12 noon on Tuesday 1st September 2026.
